The Alexander Technique is a method of self-discovery through the exploration of posture, habits and movement.

In each lesson, the teacher and student work together using a clear set of movement principles to assess and identify how your unique movement patterns may be
contributing to inefficiency, pain, discomfort, stress, or anxiety.

Through gentle hands-on guidance, you'll learn how to use only the necessary amount
of muscular effort for any activity.

Whether your goal is to relieve pain, improve balance and posture, or enhance
performance in music, sports, or daily life—the Alexander Technique can support you.

Benefits & News

In your Alexander Technique lesson, you'll learn how to move with greater ease, balance, and coordination by becoming more aware of unconscious habits that may be contributing to tension or pain.

Lessons are typically one-on-one and involve both discussion and gentle, guided movement. You’ll remain fully clothed and may work with simple activities such as standing, sitting, and walking. During a lesson students are also guided through bodywork and movement while lying-down on a table.

Using gentle hands-on guidance and verbal instruction, the teacher helps you notice how you use yourself -how you sit, stand, walk, breathe, and respond to daily activities. You'll begin to identify patterns like tightening your neck, collapsing your posture, or over- efforting in simple movements and then learn to redirect the movement for greater efficiency and overall coordination.

“Danielle has completely transformed the way I perform. Before studying Alexander Technique with her, my posture was my biggest insecurity. I used to suffer from frequent, intense back pain, and a noticeable hump in my back significantly hindered my performances. In classical singing, the body plays a crucial role, and thanks to Danielle, my confidence and breath support have improved dramatically.”
